Sample of learners' work and feedback

Practice teaching is the most exciting part of being a student teacher. As a future epistemology of learning, I play a vital role like professional teachers do. At first, you don’t know how to deal with the new crowd of people. I handled seven sections, a total of more than 300 students. I learnt first how to become friend to them, a mentor, a sister, then later on as facilitator.

I considered learners’ work as a reflection to their willingness on the subject matter. More prominently, the learners’ work is one way of determining if both the teacher and students were able to attain the objectives of the topic intended for that day. It also gives a replication to the teacher if he/she is an effective one. I am proud to my students for being a creative and talented individuals. Even some outputs are not that good, I am impressed for those people who gave an efforts in doing their tasks. I don’t want to become unfair, so I see to it that I have a rubrics on grading their outputs.

In terms of students’ feedback, it could be either in the form of words or being shown emotionally. I asked my students to write a feedback or simple letter about me. It includes what are the traits that they like in me and the things that made them hate me. And the true purpose was to evaluate my teaching performances as well as my kind of relationship with the learners.

I made my students to respect me as how they treat their other teachers, shown me love and cares. And I am so grateful with the feedback's that were expressed through letters. There are some suggestions that I will never forget, like to wear my smile always and don’t become “maldita” all the time. Another is about the unforgettable program event for a student teacher like me, wherein there were many surprises. I appreciate their efforts, it’s made me cry I am very thankful to have them in my life, they taught me so many things.
